Spanning 15% of the global ice-free terrestrial surface, agricultural lands provide an immense and near-term opportunity to address climate change, food, and water security challenges. Through the computationally informed breeding of canopy structural traits away from those of modern cultivars, we show that solutions exist that increase productivity and water use efficiency, while increasing land-surface reflectivity to offset greenhouse gas warming. Plants have evolved to maximize capture of radiation in the upper leaves, thus shading competitors.
Analyses revealed that the areas of rural physicians' greatest satisfaction were their relationships with patients, clinical autonomy, the care they provided to medically needy patients, and life in small communities. Physicians were least satisfied with their access to urban amenities and the amount of time they spent away from their practices. Retention was independently associated only with physicians' satisfaction with their communities and their opportunities to achieve professional goals.
There were no late deaths up to 6 years, a survival rate of 84% +/- 7%. Late results were studied in 23 survivors having a follow-up of longer than 12 months. Ninety-six percent were free of symptoms; left ventricular function recovered to normal in all patients; moderate to severe mitral regurgitation decreased to minimal or no regurgitation in most patients (5/7); and the reimplanted anomalous left coronary artery was patent in each patient.
BACKGROUND: Theories of health behavior and empirical research highlight the risk perception as a significant factor for people adopting cancer screening. However, screening uptakes Nike Flyknit and risk perception of cervical cancer in mainland Chinese women remains unknown.OBJECTIVE: This paper adopted the protection motivation theory (PMT) to examine Chinese women's knowledge and perceptions of cervical cancer risk and factors influencing utilization of cervical screening.METHODS: A self-administered Nike Shoes questionnaire was completed by 167 participants in mainland China (79 nonscreened and 88 screened women) in 2007 which consisted of four sections: background information, women's attendance pattern for cervical screening, perceptions related to body health and knowledge about cervical cancer and screening, and PMT measures.RESULTS: All women considered themselves at low risk of cervical cancer. No significant association was observed between previous screening uptake and PMT variables.
